Stoke Manderville to Greatworth
Lizzy invites anyone who wants to join her to the restart at Thorpe Manderville at 4pm for the 'homeward stretch' and
Offchurch to Ufton Woods all day access.
This walk has set start or finish point or time, it provides all day access across farmland, following the actual route of HS2 (opposed to official footpaths) with landowners permission. There will be an event for the press at Welsh Road Farm [CV33 9BG] at 11am.
Local access points will include: down the public footpaths from Cubbington and Weston towards Offchurch, crossing the river Leam (OS reference 361677); Hunningham Lane north-east of Offchurch (366666); Offchurch Greenway just west of the Fosse Way and east of Offchurch (368658); Welsh Road Farm on the Welsh Road (377645); and west along the Canal where the Welsh Road crosses it by Print Farm (385640). Parking will be available in Cubbington village (345685); the Offchurch Greenway car park (366655); Welsh Road Farm (375645); and the canal car park (385641). Kenilworth, Berkswell, Hampton in Arden, Balsall Common and Burton Green action groups are walking and cycling to Burton Green along the Kenilworth Greenway.
Walking from the North-
-High ground to the north of Didington Lane (B92 0BY) at 10am
-Patrick Farm, Meriden Lane (B92 0LT) 10.30am
-The Railway Inn, Balsall Common 12.30-1.30pm for 1.30 departure (CV7 7EF). People can return from Burton Green to this point by train (Tile Hill to Berkswell)
Walking from the South-
Meet between 12 & 1pm for 1pm set off at the Virgins & Castle, High Street, Kenilworth (CV8 1LY)
Cycling from the South-
Meet at Abbey Fields Car Park, Bridge Street, Kenilworth (CV8 1BP) at 11.30am for 13.5 'HS2 Tour', taking in Kenilworth, Stareton, Stoneleigh, Crackley & Burton Green.
Or just get to Burton Green Village Hall (CV8 1PL) by your own route between 2pm and 5pm.
